An inspiring and stimulating seminar moderated by Alice Rawsthorn, acclaimed design critic of the International Herald Tribune, lead key contemporary designers to explore the economic value in designing for the better.

Former Chief of BMW Design Group, Chris Bangle, illuminated the audience with his experiences of experimentation and changing a car-making culture that was fast becoming homogenous and bland.
Fabio Cavalli, CEO of mondoBiotech™, brought an exciting spirit and celebrated his company’s successful IPO.  He highlighted the vital need in addressing, researching and providing solutions to rare diseases, with the aim of licensing them out to third-parties.
Patrick Frick, co-founder of Value Web and partner of Blatter&Frick, emphasised the importance of design processes in his presentation. Addressing the value in design, he further argued the potential that the design process holds in solving complex and systemic world issues.
Finally, Cameron Sinclair, Co-founder, Executive Director and Chief Eternal Optimist of Architecture for Humanity, gave an insightful presentation on the exponential growth of Architecture for Humanity since winning the INDEX: Award in 2005 and the TED prize in 2006. Focussed on socially conscious design, with a committed team of architects spread globally, he delivered an inspiring talk on designing sustainable solutions for communities in developed and the developing world.
