NOMINATION OF THE WEEK: PAPERFUGE

INDEX: Award 2015 finalist Manu Prakash, Co-founder of Foldscope, has come up with yet another amazing low-cost innovation for healthcare. Along with fellow Stanford comrade Saad Bhamla, the duo have created a human-powered blood centrifuge – made from paper! A centrifuge is critical for detecting diseases such as malaria, African sleeping sickness, HIV and tuberculosis.
