DESIGN TO IMPROVE LIFE GOALS

The foundation for all our work has always been to know what’s going on in the world. Throughout 2016, our entire team interviewed almost 150 people from all over the world, across all sectors, to find out what they believe are – and will be – the world’s biggest challenges. With this crucial data, we then identified five new Design to Improve Life Goals that we believe deserve equal attention to the SDGs.

A. NAVIGATE POST-FACTUAL SOCIETY
Understand the drivers behind post-factual society and promote the value of factual information as the sound basis for global development.

B. BALANCE HUMAN & ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Achieve a healthy balance between human intelligence and the exponential growth of artificial intelligence.

C. TRUST, TOLERANCE & EMPATHY
Promote trust, tolerance and empathy to achieve a broad sense of global solidarity.

D. INNOVATIVE FINANCIAL SYSTEM
Develop and support financial mechanisms that prioritize profit, people and planet – the triple bottom line model.

E. REFUGEES & MIGRANTS
Stabilize the growing refugee and migrant crisis and promote more inclusive systems for newcomers.
