The design brief for the second Design to Improve Challenge in Elsinore is up! This time, the city’s youth will be coming up with new solutions to improve health…

“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease,” says the World Health Organization (WHO). With this in mind, the students of Elsinore will be free to address almost anything related to health. Such as disease, mental health, diet and exercise, or even lifestyle habits like smoking or alcohol.

Part of Boost Elsinore (Boost – Innovativ Skole i Helsingør), Elsinore’s Design to Improve Life Challenge is a fun and educational competition that empowers students to design their own solutions to address societal issues. The local youth formerly designed solutions to improve refugee integration – which led to some amazing results – and will undergo the same process to help improve the health of local citizens. Like Elsinore’s first Challenge, the entire school system – almost 7,000 students – will participate in the 2017 competition. Students will design their solutions in January 2017, and the top 20, chosen by an expert jury panel (TBA), will be invited to participate in the official Battle on March 9th, 2017.

Can’t wait until then? Check out the Battle video from last time…
