LIZA CHONG OFFICIALLY APPOINTED AS CEO

We’re delighted to announce the official appointment of Liza Chong as CEO of INDEX: Design to Improve Life. Liza has been a key member of INDEX’s leadership team and, since March 2018, has served as Acting CEO following the departure of Founder Kigge Hvid.

INDEX: Design to Improve Life Chairman of the Board, Jens Wittrup Willumsen, made the official announcement on Friday, August 17.

“We’re proud to welcome Liza as the next official CEO of INDEX,” Jens said. “Her appointment is a clear reflection of the organisation’s current state: ready to take on the future with a fresh perspective.”

“We have worked closely with Liza for many years and she has our deepest respect. The Board is confident that INDEX will continue to push the boundaries of what design can do and we look forward to seeing the organisation flourish under her leadership.”

Originally from the UK, Liza joined INDEX in 2010. She has since been the driving force behind the organisation’s Investment Program, including the establishment of the Design to Improve Life Fund and various large-scale global partnerships.

“I’m deeply honoured to lead the team and plan to bring a new approach while upholding our strong legacy,” Liza said. “INDEX and the credo of Design to Improve Life has come a tremendously long way and, while many challenges still lay ahead, I’m excited to bring INDEX to new heights within the design-for-good space.”

In addition, Liza was recently made an RSA Fellow, joining a diverse network of  29,o00 like-minded influencers. The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce works to enrich society through ideas and action and has been at the forefront of social change for 260 years.
