NOMINATION OF THE WEEK: POTATO PLASTIC

Biodegradable materials offer great potential when it comes to curbing deadly plastic pollution. This ‘plastic’, designed by Pontus Törnqvist, is made from potatoes and breaks down in just two months. As explained by the Swedish designer, his version aims to make use of all the discarded “ugly potatoes” that are deemed unfit for supermarket shelves.
