Elsinore’s Design to Improve Life Challenge has been named a semi-finalist for the European Social Innovation Competition!

Out of almost 1,100 candidates the Elsinore Design to Improve Life Challenge, with the theme ‘People on the run – from refugee to citizen’, has been selected as one of the 30 semi-finalists of the European Social Innovation Competition!

Run by the European Commission across all European nations, this year the Social Innovation Competition focuses on the best ideas that improve the reception and integration of refugees and migrants in Europe.

The 30 semi-finalist projects, from 36 different countries, include products, new technologies, services or educational/community concepts like the Elsinore Challenge – the only Danish nominee.

Elsinore’s Design to Improve Life Challenge, run in collaboration with Elsinore Municipality and Metropol University College, is designed to allow students to address real world challenges through design. This year, it involved all 7,000 students throughout Elsinore and tasked them to design solutions to improve the local refugee integration process.

The 10 finalists will be announced on September 30th, and the three winners will be revealed -and awarded €50,000 each- at a major awards ceremony in Brussels on October 27th. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
